Welcome to Limacs.org, the website for Long Island Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation Services.  In the next few minutes, you’ll learn everything you need to know to decide whether you should consider using a private alternative dispute resolution process to settle your business dispute, consumer dispute or any other type of dispute – even a personal or family dispute.

Until now, you’d most likely have to go to some organization like the American Arbitration Association to arrange for a private mediation or arbitration.  You’d have to pay the organization administrative fees to oversee your proceeding.  You’d have to take the time to choose a neutral.  You’d have to pay for a conference room to conduct your proceeding.  And, of course, you’d have to pay the neutral’s fees, usually calculated as an hourly rate for the time he/she spends reviewing materials and meeting with you.
