Roy Klein is a 1974 honors graduate of S.U.N.Y. Binghamton (B.A. in History) and a 1977 honors graduate of Columbia Law School, where he was a two-time Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. This means that he graduated in the top quarter of his class in what was generally regarded at the time as the third best law school in America.
Before establishing his own law practice in 1994, Roy was a partner in the Manhattan office of Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin & Kahn, a prominent Washington, D.C., law firm, and its predecessor, McGarrahan & Heard.
Roy is admitted to practice in New York State, in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, in the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Federal Circuits and in the United States Supreme Court. He is also a member of the Nassau County, New York State and American Bar Associations.
Roy’s law practice involves representing both plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of litigation in New York state and federal courts, as well as in domestic and international arbitrations and in numerous court-sponsored mediations. In addition to being an experienced member of the panel of arbitrators for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, he is a trained mediator and a member of two New York State Supreme Court mediation panels as well as a mediator with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
